About this Role:
Ambitious / experience Senior Site Manager required to work with the team on a £30m phased cut and carve refurbishment project in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. Initial works are underway, with multiple larger phases due to commence in the first quarter of 2018, with a build duration in excess of 14months. Works include structural alterations, new build office extension, remodelling and refurbishment of research and development buildings plus office refurbishment, all within a live environment. This is a technically challenging project, for a high profile client.
Reporting to the Project Manager you will be responsible for managing site based construction activities for your areas, including short-term programming of works, health and safety, review of method statements, risk assessments, call off of materials, site logistics, quality control, inspection and test plans, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against program, issue resolution, etc. snagging and handover.

About the Company/Client/Project:
The role is with the busy regional Bristol office of this leading national contractor with a proven track record in the successful delivery of projects ranging from £15m to £50m in the commercial, higher education, luxury retirement, industrial, MOD and MOJ sectors. Geographical patch focus is along the M4 corridor, with secured workload in Reading, Newbury, Malmesbury and Bristol.
Workload is secured on a mixture of national and regional frameworks, competitive tenders plus negotiated works with repeat clients. Turnover for the region is circa £80m to £100m, with a high percentage already secured for next year.
With an excellent reputation for training development, and the opportunity for progression within the business, the business has a very low turnover of staff, and long term career employees in key management and director positions.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management and communication skills. A proven track record of work for a top twenty main contractor advantageous.
You will ideally come from a construction management, engineering or trades background, be educated to degree level or similar NVQ level, with a sharp eye for detail and quality throughout. You will be forward thinking and proactive, possessing the ability to plan ahead, identify and resolve issues, work well within a team, see the big picture, with a positive, ‘get it right first time’ approach.
You will ideally have previous steel framed building experience, and be able to deal with a complex steelwork package on this project.
You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role.
