Site Manager – Internals
About this Role:
Ambitious Site Manager required to work with the team on a £30m new build high spec retirement development in Wandworth, London. The project in underway with concrete structure complete, external envelope works commenced and internal fit out due to begin in February next year. The overall project duration is in excess of 18months with handovers in late 2019. This is a very high specification scheme for a luxury retirement home provider.
This is a technically challenging project, comprising an excavation to provide basement parking and a 7 storey RC frame on a constricted town centre site with roads on three sides. The scheme will be fit out to high standard with the overall effect more like a 4 star hotel, with luxury rooms, entrance foyer, restaurants, café area, spa and fitness areas, cinema, plus multiple communal areas.
Reporting to the Project Manager and Senior Site Manager you will be responsible for managing site based construction activities for internals, including short-term programming of works, health and safety, review of method statements, risk assessments, call off of materials, site logistics, quality control, inspection and test plans, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against program, issue resolution, etc, snagging and handover.

About the Company/Client/Project:
The role is with the busy regional Hampshire office of this leading national contractor with a proven track record in the successful delivery of projects ranging from £15m to £50m in the commercial, higher education, luxury retirement, industrial, MOD and MOJ sectors. Geographical patch focus is South West London, Surrey and home counties.
Workload is secured on a mixture of national and regional frameworks, competitive tenders plus negotiated works with repeat clients. Turnover for the region is circa £80m to £100m, with a high percentage already secured for next year. This is a Tier 1 main contractor is a strong cash rich position.
With an excellent reputation for training development, and the opportunity for progression within the business, the business has a very low turnover of staff, and long term career employees in key management and director positions.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management and communication skills. A proven track record of work for a top twenty main contractor advantageous.
You will ideally come from a construction management, engineering or trades background, be educated to degree level or similar NVQ level, with a sharp eye for detail and quality throughout. You will be forward thinking and proactive, possessing the ability to plan ahead, identify and resolve issues, work well within a team, see the big picture, with a positive, ‘get it right first time’ approach.
You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role.
