About this Role:
We have an immediate requirement for a permanent Site Manager to work for a regional contractor; their work is based in the Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire areas. This organisation has multiple projects running and/or starting nearby, that you may be required to support with when needed for the Civil Engineering/Groundwork division. You are needed initially for a project in Southampton starting in January 2020.
The project is based in Southampton and is up to the value of £17m. The Scheme comprises construction of warehouse and distribution for storage including access, parking and ancillary infrastructure and extension to 20 gate warehouse including sustainable urban drainage system.
This project also includes associated infrastructure works and access roads and this development has been designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent rating for sustainability.
You will be responsible for a variety of activities, including:
Weekly management reports
Monitor progress of the project in accordance with the programme.
Pre start meetings and health and safety plans
Undertake a site safety induction of all new site personnel.
Liaise with the materials controller ensuring material deliveries are in accordance with the build programme.
The management of the work carried out by the sub-contractors and materials supplied.
The ideal candidate will have worked as a Site Manager for at least 2 years with experience in civil engineering. You must be strong communicator with the drive to push on and complete the project on time and on budget.
You will have knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation. You must have the ability to plan, organise the workload and make decisions with business awareness.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The client is a Regional Civil Engineering Contractor. Their core focus is on delivering groundworks and remediation for local, main contractors. Projects include commercial and industrial groundworks, coastal stabilisation, 278 Street works, drainage and all associated Civils.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
SMSTS
CSCS
First Aid
Driving License
Computer literate.
Desirable Criteria:
Degree/HND/HNC Construction or a related subject.
Experience working for a developer or contractor.
Experience overseeing multiple projects.
