About this Role:

Experienced / ambitious Site Manager from an engineering background required to work as No2 to the PM/SSM on a £16m new build industrial building in Southampton.

Reporting to the Project Manager and Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing trade sub-contractors and all site based construction activities, including short-term programming of works, health and safety, review of method statements, risk assessments, call off of materials, logistics, quality control, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against program, etc, snagging and handover.

The project is due to commence on site shortly and run into 2021.  Works comprise a large footprint groundworks and piling package with some early remediation works, plus a large steel frame, cladding and internal fit out to provide offices and a secure environment.  You will be responsible for managing these groundworks and structural packages initially, so time served as a main contractor site/senior engineer will be very useful.

About the Company/Client/Project:

The contractor is a busy regional contractor with a £75m annual turnover, and a proven track record in the delivery of medium sized new build and refurbishment schemes from £5m to £25m in the education, commercial, local authority, nursing home, industrial and retail sectors.

The work patch covers Hampshire and Dorset, plus W Sussex

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management, and communication skills.  A proven track record of work for a top twenty main contractor would be advantageous.

Ideally from an engineering background with a sharp eye for detail and finishes, you will possess strong planning and problem solving ability, with a positive, ‘get it right first time’ approach.

Ideal opportunity for an ambitious Site Manager or a more established SM happy to work in the No2 role.

You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role.
