About this Role:
Experienced / ambitious Site Manager required to work as No2 to the PM on a £5m new build education project in Poole, Dorset.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing trade sub-contractors and all site based construction activities, including short-term programming of works, health and safety, review of method statements, risk assessments, call off of materials, logistics, quality control, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against program, etc, snagging and handover.
The project is due to commence on site in August and run for 12months into next year. The scheme is secured on a framework, with a good pipeline of work to follow.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The contractor is a busy regional contractor with a £75m annual turnover, and a proven track record in the delivery of medium sized new build and refurbishment schemes from £5m to £30m in the education, commercial, local authority, retirement living, industrial and retail sectors.
The work patch covers Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire. Workload is secured via a mixture of regional and national frameworks, negotiated work for repeat clients, and single-stage competitive tenders.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management, and communication skills. A proven track record of work for a top twenty main contractor would be advantageous.
Ideally from a trades, construction management or engineering background with a sharp eye for detail and finishes, you will possess strong planning and problem solving ability, with a positive, ‘get it right first time’ approach.
Ideal opportunity for an ambitious Site Manager or a more established SM happy to work in the No2 role.
You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role.
