About this Role:
A major civil engineering contractor are seeking a Site Engineer to join their project team, based at Gatwick Airport. The successful candidate will join the team to work on a recently awarded Rapid Exit Taxiway project – c£13 million over a 12 month programme.
The project will include a mixture of day and night work consisting of earthworks; drainage; ducting and pavement quality concrete bays. Working on one of the busiest runways in the UK will result in challenging site logistics and strict health and safety procedures.
They are currently working on the medium complexity framework delivering projects between £5 million - £10 million including taxiway refurbishment schemes; reinforced concrete aprons; roads and infrastructure; drainage upgrades and more.
The ideal candidate will have experience of setting out in a civil engineering environment and be competent with working alone to deliver the required setting out aspects of the project.
- Responsible for all setting out aspects of the project
- Coordinate gangs to ensure the project is running efficiently
- Ensure quality is met in accordance with specification
- Operate and promote a high level of health and safety
- Assist/produce risk assessment and method statements
- Co-ordinating the technical aspects of package handovers

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
Ideally you will be a minimum of HNC/HND Civil Engineering qualified and have a minimum of 12 months’ experience setting out.
