About this Role:
A Site Engineer is required to join a regional civil engineering contractor to assist with engineering aspects of highway bypass. The bypass will alleviate traffic congestion through two towns in West Sussex improving reliability of travel times as well increasing safety and decreasing pollution levels through the town.
The programme is to be delivered in 40 weeks and valued in circa £15 million. The contractor operate as the principle contractor and will be responsible for self-delivering works, compromising of; construction of 1km highway; pedestrian and cyclist facilities; viaduct (rail crossing); culvert; balancing pond and new junctions with associated street furniture.
Duties to include:
- Work within a team of Site Engineers to complete setting out of works
- Co-ordinate gangs to ensure work is being delivered efficiently
- Ensure quality is met in accordance with specification
- Operate and promote a high level of health and safety
- Calculate take-offs
- Plan and schedule work efficiently to ensure deadlines are met in accordance to the program
- Co-ordinating the technical aspects of package handovers

About the Company/Client/Project:
You will be attached to their Hampshire office covering the southern operation of the business in Hampshire, West Sussex, Wiltshire and Dorset. They are a comprehensive civil engineering contractor specialising in highways, water, waste, sea defence, flood alleviation, aviation, public realm and building.
Typically projects range in value between £4m – £9 million. Some of their live projects currently include town centre regeneration; waste water treatment works; coastal protection (new sea wall); developer lead land reclamation and associated civils.
The business has successfully been thriving across the South Coast for over 50 years’ with an annual turnover in circa £80 million.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
Ideally you will hold minimum of HNC/HND Civil Engineering qualification.
