About this Role:
We have a freelance/contract opportunity for a Site Agent/Site Manager to work for a civil engineering contractor on live projects in Surrey, working close to and in the water environment the site locations are near Guildford and Weybridge areas
The projects are broken down into sections of work. As a site agent you will be responsible multiple packages involving repair and replacement locks, weirs, cofferdam construction and associated minor works.
The role will involve working alongside an experienced team including a Project Manager, Foreman, Engineers, and subcontractors to ensure the works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
Suitable candidates will be required to
Procure the required plant and labour.
Identify and procure materials for the works via the head office purchasing department.
Procure materials and plant required for the temporary works
Ensure temporary works are installed and maintained as per the design.
Produce and brief detailed method statement briefing sheets for individual work elements.
Ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with the agreed method and environmental management plan.
Manage existing project subcontractors
Hold an internal weekly site meeting with the Foreman, Site engineer and subcontractor.
Review and update the construction programme weekly with the project planner.
Identify and formally raise design issues to the project design team.
Record any delays or issues and raise early warning notices via the core team.
Provide weekly plant hire and materials received records.
Update the project commercial forecast weekly with the site Quantity Surveyor, and provide information for commercial claims.
Co-ordinate access, works and deliveries with third parties.
Produce a monthly progress report and attend a monthly progress meeting with the Senior Project Manager of the overall scheme.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The company are a leading group of companies working in a consortium across the country working on civil engineering contracts that specialise in marine, utilities, coastal defence, clean water and waste water
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
Your background will be in civil engineering and ideally experience of working in a water environment.
The suitable candidate is likely to have a Degree or HNC/HND in civil engineering or a related field. CSCS card SMSTS and driving license. IT experience in all site paperwork and preferably previous experience of working with the Environment Agency.
Further tickets would be beneficial are CITB Appointed Person Crane Operations ,First Aid Qualified, Fire Marshall, Setting out and monitoring, CITB Temporary Works Coordinator.
