Senior Site Manager
About this Role:
Ambitious Senior Site Manager required to work as No1 on a £4m new build college drama block building in Aldershot, due to commence on site in the new year. This role will suit an experienced No1 Senior Site Manager / aspiring Project Manager. This role is working with the busy regional office of a leading national main contractor.
Reporting to the visiting Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing all site based construction activities including long and short-term programming of works, liaion with Design Manager and consultant design team, methodology, logistics, health and safety, review of method statements, risk assessments, logistics, quality control, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against program, etc, snagging and handover.
This project is secured on a regional framework and has gone through preconstruction and planning.
It is due to start on site in April 2020 for a 45 week programme of works on site.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The contractor is a busy national contractor with a £35m annual turnover in the region, and a proven track record in the delivery of new build and refurbishment schemes in the education, further education, local authority, commercial and healthcare sectors.
Typical patch covers mainly Hampshire, plus the south of Berks and Surrey
The main contractor group is cash rich and in a strong financial position; The region can afford to be selective in terms of the projects it pursues rather than needing to chase turnover; It has a positive working relationship with the supply chain.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
The successful candidate will have 5-8 years of experience as a Site Manager / No1 Site Manager, will be highly motivated, proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management, communication and communication skills. Proven track record of work for a top twenty main contractor advantageous.
Previous experience of working on an education scheme in a live environment would be advantageous.
Ideally from a construction management or engineering background with a sharp eye for detail, you will possess excellent planning and problem solving ability, with a positive, ‘get it right first time’ approach.
You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role.
You will be ambitious and looking to progress towards PM in your career for the long-term.
