Description

About this Role:

A tier one contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their southern infrastructure division working on projects ranging up to £30 million in Hampshire and Surrey. Live projects in the region currently include a marine structural repair scheme with cathodic protection and extensive concrete repairs as well as new developer lead roads and infrastructure to transform ex-MOD land over a 5 year period.

The business act as the principle contractor and will require procurement of sub-contractors and managing all commercial aspects of individual projects. You will report to a Senior Quantity Surveyor and support junior members of the commercial team. You’ll aim to maximise the profitability within the terms of the NEC contract on every project and win repeat business by building relationships with new and existing clients.

Duties will include:

Producing accurate and timely reports

Procurement of subcontractors

Supervising the performance of the commercial aspects of projects

Cost and value reporting

Provide direction and leadership to members of the commercial team, assessing training and development requirements where needed

Lead negotiation with settlement of disputes in relation to customer and supplier accounts

Producing commercial reports

Risk management

About the Company/Client/Project:

The role is to work with the regional Hampshire office of the national contractor. The business has over 100 years’ experience in construction and currently employing over 5,000 people in the UK they are best known for delivering some of the UK’s greatest buildings and infrastructure.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

Ideally you will hold minimum of HNC/HND Civil Engineering qualification with experience working with NEC3 contracts.
