About this Role:

We have an exciting opportunity in the near future to work on a Large Major Civil Engineering project for a Tier 1 Contractor leading the £1.9bn project.

This Tier 1 contractor has been appointed to the major civil engineering project on a Joint Venture basis. The project is well under way with Planners and designers and will shortly be hitting the ground. They have a need to recruit the right Senior Environmental Advisor to join the team for this project.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working on large civils schemes, major projects background, either within heavy civils, tunnelling, earthworks, highways or rail infrastructure.

Duties:

Set and maintain standards of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) practice and deliver relevant awareness training to internal staff and contractors as appropriate in accordance with Morgan Sindall and customer requirements, with a particular focus on environment

Ensure SHEQ procedures are regularly developed to meet and exceed internal and external customer expectations

Promote individual awareness of the importance of SHEQ and to create an environment that generates automatically, a high focus on health and SQE awareness

Provide advice and support management teams, employees and those working with us supporting 100% SAFE and our total commitment to a sustainable business

Carry out appropriate monitoring at work locations

Liaise with regulatory authorities and professional bodies

The physical work will include:

Large Earthworks

Major tunnelling.

Concrete works.

Shaft construction.

New substations

Substation upgrades

About the Company/Client/Project:

The client is a worldwide Building & Civil Engineering Contractor, established in 1990 in the UK. Their core focus is on delivering complex infrastructure projects but also cover engineering, mining and services extensively, with highways, rail, heavy civil engineering and infrastructure schemes forming the bulk of their workload.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

A BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with recent relevant experience in a similar role.

Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UK
