Description

About this Role:

Section Engineer required to work on a £14 million highways scheme for the principle contractor. The project is commencing imminently and is programmed for 103 weeks with works including; bulk earthworks; junction alterations; new bridge structure and the construction of a new roundabout. Due to the geographical size of the project it will be split into 2 sections.

The business operate as the principle contractor delivering one-off schemes for Highways England, County/City Councils and developers among working on a wide range of frameworks across the South West. The contractor self-delivers their work and will ideally be seeking someone with experience of self-delivery.

The role will not require you to set out however you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running and management of 2 Site Engineers while reporting the Section Agent.

Duties include:

Day-to-day management of setting out engineers

Co-ordinate gangs to ensure work is being delivered efficiently

Ensure quality is met in accordance with specification

Operate and promote a high level of health and safety

Assist/produce risk assessment and method statements with the Section Agent

Calculate take-offs

Plan and schedule work efficiently to ensure deadlines are met in accordance to the program

Co-ordinating the technical aspects of package handovers

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

Ideally you will hold minimum of HNC/HND Civil Engineering qualification and have 2 years’ experience setting out on civil engineering projects.
