About this Role:

Contract/freelance Quantity Surveyor required to for a tier 1 Civil Engineering contractor that have live work on site on a rail scheme. With other divisions in construction, highways and residential they strive to provide the best experience to all stakeholders and employees throughout the creation of every individual project.

Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have previous experience in a commercial environment, ideally measuring or costing works under Schedule of Rates arrangements.

This role will involve supporting the surveying team and supporting on exercising financial control over costs and maximising returns and profitability for projects. Carry out Cost/Value reviews and review subcontractor costs.

About the Company/Client/Project:

A national contractor successfully delivering projects in civil engineering, build and rail across the UK with IIP (Investors in People) status.

The works are across multiple stations and involve updating stations to have step free access to involve the construction of ramps, lift shafts and general civils improvements. The value of the schemes in total is in the region of £20m.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

Ideally you will hold a minimum of HNC/HND Quantity Surveying or other related construction qualification with extensive knowledge in the industry.         

Producing commercial reports.

Risk management.

Full knowledge of NEC Contracts.

Experience of supervising other commercial staff.
