About this Role:
A specialist highways and civil engineering contractor a seeking Quantity Surveyor to manage all commercial aspects of their highways maintenance contract across the M25. You will work with the Framework Manager and junior members of the commercial team to deliver circa £12 million of work per annum.
The business operate as the principle contractor on the framework and self-deliver their projects.
You’ll aim to maximise the profitability within the terms of the NEC contract throughout the delivery of schemes – you may manage up to 6 schemes at any one time. The framework operates collaboratively so building a relationship with the client is vital to secure repeat business.
Projects typically range between £250k - £5 million and include pinch point/junction upgrades; drainage upgrades; section 278 works; bridge repair and replacement schemes and one-off SMART Motorway works.
Duties will include:
Management of staff, by managing individual and team performance
Producing accurate and timely reports
Procurement of subcontractors
Supervising the performance of the commercial aspects of projects
Cost and value reporting
Provide direction and leadership to members of the commercial team, assessing training and development requirements where needed
Lead negotiation with settlement of disputes in relation to customer and supplier accounts
Producing commercial reports

About the Company/Client/Project:
The role is to work with the regional Surrey office of the growing South Coast company. They are a comprehensive civil engineering contractor specialising in one-off highways schemes, highways maintenance and growing their newly established rail division. The business has successfully been thriving across the South Coast for over 35 years’ with an annual turnover in circa £50 million.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
Ideally you will hold minimum of HNC/HND Civil Engineering qualification with experience working with NEC3 contracts.
