About this Role:
Quantity Surveyor required to join a professional civil engineering contractor and take responsibility of a mixture of civil engineering projects up to £15 million. You will manage all commercial aspects of projects ranging from coastal defence; flood alleviation; public realm regeneration; MOD infrastructure; waste water treatment and building.
The business operates as the principle contractor as well as self-delivering the work. Traditionally projects range in value between £1.5m - £7.5 million across Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset but have previously self-delivered projects in circa £18 million.
You will report to a Senior Quantity Surveyor and support junior members of the commercial team. You’ll aim to maximise the profitability within the terms of the NEC contract on every project and win repeat business by building relationships with new and existing clients.
Duties will include:
Management of staff, by managing individual and team performance
Producing accurate and timely reports
Procurement of subcontractors
Supervising the performance of the commercial aspects of projects
Cost and value reporting
Provide direction and leadership to members of the commercial team, assessing training and development requirements where needed
Lead negotiation with settlement of disputes in relation to customer and supplier accounts
Producing commercial reports

The role is to work with the busy Hampshire office covering the southern operation of the business. They are a comprehensive civil engineering contractor specialising in water, waste and energy; sea defence; flood alleviation; aviation; public realm; infrastructure and building. The business has successfully been thriving across the South Coast for over 50 years’ with an annual turnover in circa £80 million delivering projects as the principle contractor up to £15 million.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will hold a minimum of HNC/HND Civil Engineering qualification with extensive knowledge working with NEC contracts.
