About this Role:
Experienced Project Planner required to work with the Regional Office of this busy main contractor group, based in Hampshire, to work site based on a large new build research and development building in Wiltshire. Construction is underway and is phased over the next two years. This role will initially work with the Senior Planner on site, taking on the detailed construction planning for each phase of work.
This role would suit an experienced Project Planner, or a site / project manager manager with main contractor construction experience, who is interested in pursuing a career in Planning, and has the experience and ability to programme a project for tender and in detail for construction.
The role is to work site based on this project near Salisbury, undertaking detailed planning duties for all construction activities and logistics, interfacing with the project team including design managers, site managers and commercial team; Reporting to the Senior Planner you will regularly assess, monitor and report on the progress against programme, update drop lines, re-programme key activities as required, etc.
On completion of the works on site, the role will include working with the Head Office preconstruction teams on tenders and second stage development, following the schemes back on to site.
This is a permanent role, with the potential to progress to Senior Planner in the future.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The role is with the Hampshire regional office of this busy main contractor covering the Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset areas.
Scope of works includes education schools, colleges and university faculty buildings, commercial offices, research and development buildings, hotel and leisure buildings, with projects typically ranging in value from £15m to £50m. Workload is secured via a mixture of national and regional frameworks, competitive tenders, and negotiated work for repeat clients.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
Ideally from an Engineering and site management / project management background with a main contractor, you will possess excellent communication skills, planning and problem solving ability, in depth technical knowledge with excellent attention to detail, and a positive, ‘get it right first time’ approach.
Experience of and ability to use ASTA Powerproject and ideally MS Project proficiently is essential, plus the ability to effectively program construction activities for projects and practical site experience to support this.
You will possess sound technical knowledge together with the experience of working with a large project main contractor construction team.
