About this Role:
Due to the busy start of 2020 a regional civil engineering contractor are looking to recruit an additional Project Manager. The role will give you the opportunity to work on diverse projects including specialist marine work including port expansions and sea defence structures to urban regenerations, flood alleviation schemes, waste water treatment works, roads and infrastructure.
The business are a principal contractor and self-deliver with their large directly employed labour force. Traditionally the value of projects range between £4m - £10 million but also deliver one-off schemes between £15m - £20 million. Throughout the duration of projects you will be a crucial point of contact for members of the public, clients, site team and subcontractors.
Duties will include:
Ensure that projects under your control align with the business requirements in terms of the companies health and safety, quality, and environmental practices.
Deliver a strong culture of competent cost management, including the adoption of appropriate practices and procedures to manage operational expenditure effectively.
Assist the commercial team in the procurement of subcontractors
Work with planners and the client to develop a masterplan
KPI Management and internal risk and opportunity reporting to senior management
Contribute to the development of new and existing customer relationships.
Attend customer pre start and progress meetings, providing senior representation and taking responsibility for the resolution of any large scale issues requiring senior support.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong leadership, be technically sound with strong commercial acumen and have excellent communication skills.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will hold a minimum of HNC/HND Civil Engineering.
