About this Role:
A major civil engineering contractor are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their infrastructure division and lead the delivery of a new highways scheme. The business have been awarded a complex project to reconfigure a motorway leading in/out of the busy city centre.
The project is still in the early stages but will include reconfiguring the existing road layout, construction of new roundabouts, demolition of a retail park to support stretches new stretches of dual carriage to ease congestion through the city and open up existing land for new development.
With the project being in the early stages the business require a Project Manager that has the ability to work closely with both the client and designers to produce a deliverable and commercially rewarding design and programme. The city council has committed to spending c£70 million over a 10 year period to restructure their highways and city centre so building a strong relationship with the client is vital.
It is essential that you have experience using the NEC form of contract and managing self-delivered projects.
There is an outstanding opportunity for the Project Manager to quickly progress into Contracts Manager role - taking ownership further work in Hampshire including urban regeneration schemes and coastal defence works in the foreseeable future as well as growing the business with new clients.
About the Company/Client/Project:
A comprehensive civil engineering contractor with a strong presence within rail and infrastructure self-delivering one-off projects up to £70 million. They are currently turning over in circa £230 million across the South of England for Highways England, Network Rail, private sector clients and local authorities – they have also secured work on the Routes to Market framework.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
Ideally you will hold a minimum of a HND/BEng Civil Engineering and experience of self-delivering projects from inception to handover – chartership is favourable.
