About this Role:
Experienced Project Manager required to work on a prestigious local project in Dorchester.
This £9M project is to demolish and then build an extension to a grade listed building and to refurbish the existing building.
You will be working with the client and the local authorities very closely to ensure that all aspects of the grade listed building and heritage requirements are adhered to.
You will be reporting to the Construction Director based in head Office.
Working for a Regional Contractor with a turnover of £22M
Future projects will be new build and refurbishment projects within health, commercial, retail, leisure, government and education sectors.
You will be involved in the pre-construction of the project working closely with the estimators, design team working through to financial close, construction and delivery on site.
Reporting to the Construction Director with full responsibility for manging the project from pre-construction including the programming of works, buildability, logistics planning, health and safety, quality control, detailed design development with the client through to completion and handover.

A regional contractor with over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry working within the education, healthcare, hotels and leisure, residential, commercial, industrial, retail and community sectors.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management, communication and communication skills.
The ideal person will have experience in heritage construction and have strong skills in building relationships with the client and local authorities on similar projects and have previously worked on ecclesiastical or museum projects.
Ideally from a trades or construction management background with a sharp eye for detail and finishes, you will possess strong planning and problem solving ability, with a positive, ‘get it right first time’ approach.

Minimum HNC/HND Building Studies or Construction related degree
CSCS
SMSTS
First aid
Ability to lead a team
Proven skills in programme management
