About this Role:

Experienced Project Director required to take the lead on a £150m project on the South Coast.

You will be responsible for managing the project through the preconstruction stages through to start on site in in Q3 2020 and then construction phase through to handover in 2023.  You will lead your project team holding ultimate responsibility for client liaison, design development, construction methodology and programme of works, the smooth and timely progress of construction on site, contractual and financial control of the project throughout, plus safety and quality control. 

This is a large full turnkey scheme of a highly technical nature both in construction and the fit out and equipment aspects;  Works will be carried out within a live environment functioning 24/7, so communication with client and end users throughout will be critical.

About the Company/Client/Project:

The client is the busy regional office of a national main contractor, with a turnover in excess of £400m, with secured workload in the education, commercial, defence, healthcare, student accommodation, local authority and high spec residential sectors across the South.

Projects range in size from £40m to £200m, secured through a mixture of national and regional frameworks, negotiated schemes with repeat clients, competitive tenders, and work for the investment arm of the business.  There is a good pipeline of future work, with 100% of turnover already secured for 2020/21.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

You will ideally be an experienced Project Director with a proven track record within a major contracting organisation, able to deliver large scale design & build schemes up to £100m in value.  Key attributes will include excellent high level client, design team and project team management ability, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus focus and drive.

Experience of delivering healthcare and/or high tech laboratory schemes would be advantageous.

Due to the nature, size  and complexity of the scheme, the client will consider and support a candidate with the correct technical expertise and experience who plans to lodge for the duration of the scheme
