About this Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning & Design Manager  to join the Planning team of a well-known high quality national residential developer.

The Role:

Working within the Land Department to identify, promote and assist in securing suitable sites for both short and longer term development by the Company.

Providing intelligence on planning matters/changes that impact on our operating area.

Supporting the delivery of Contracted Land to Effective Land into the business on time and t within budget.

Duties:

The person will have a number of responsibilities within the following sections:

Identify potential land opportunities from reviewing local planning policy and planning applications

Organise, attend and present at pre-application discussion meetings

Support Land Manager/Director on planning and design matters when preparing Governance Papers

Prepare viable development options and undertake financial appraisals

Promote sites through the planning process and assist in securing planning consent and discharge of planning conditions

Prepare, submit and monitor appeals

Provide expert knowledge on current government legislation and planning policy/advice

Organise and manage consultants

Hold internal project meetings on design and planning related matters

Research and analyse data to help inform strategic developments

Produce clear, well researched and structured pieces of work

Research and help design planning policy

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

 

Graduate with suitable qualifications for RTPI membership

High level of proficiency in various computer packages including MS Office Products - Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel

Knowledge of current and future government legislation

Design standards for residential development

Excellent written, verbal and listening skills

Reliable and flexible

Decisive

Effective at building relationships and networking

Excellent planning and organising skills

Strong negotiation skills

Research skills

Innovative

Experience:

Proven track record in a relevant role

Experience in residential planning

Demonstrate cradle to grave PM on development projects

Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UK
