Package Manager – Groundworks & RC Frame
About this Role:
Experienced / Ambitious Package Manager required to work with the team on this £50m new build scientific facility near Guildford, Surrey. The project involves bulk earthworks, cut & fill, secant piling, RC basement construction and RC frame. The role will be to initially manage these packages of works, and then continue with the team on through the rest of construction until handover in 2020/21.
Reporting to the Senior Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing all technical and construction aspects for the delivery of your package of works, including design development, development of scope of works, resolution of potential interface issues, review and agreement of construction methodology with sub-contractors, sequencing and programming of works, logistics planning, review of risk assessments and method statements, health and safety, quality assurance, regular coordination meetings, progress meetings, reporting on progress against programme, etc.
You will be liaising regularly on technical aspects with Design Managers, Planners, the commercial team and other package managers, and for construction delivery on site work closely with engineer and supervisors.
This is a technically focussed role, ideally suited to an experienced/ambitious site manager looking to progress and gain experience of working with a larger team on a major project.

This role is with the major works division of a leading national main contractor, with an excellent reputation for safety and quality, and a proven track record in the delivery of large and major projects in the education scientific, commercial, MOD healthcare and leisure sectors.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management, forward planning and communication skills. Proven track record of work for an established main contractor would be advantageous.
For this role, you will be degree qualified, and come from an engineering or construction management background with the ability for understanding and processing technical design information. You will have a keen eye for detail and possess the ability to clearly plan ahead for the short and long term.
You will have the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks and maximise opportunities, with excellent problem solving ability, and a positive, proactive approach.
You will be able to work within a large team, maintaining focus on your own packages of work, plus see the bigger picture and strive to achieve the common goal of overall successful project delivery.
You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role.
