About this Role:
We are looking to recruit an experienced Estimator to join an established civil engineering contractor whom specialise in Groundworks and RC Frames. Due to increased work load they are looking to expand the commercial team; ideally someone who can work on 3-4 projects at one time. As the Estimator, you will be responsible for commercial aspects of the project, ensuring the work is completed in line with the programme.
You will be required to help and assist the Project Managers /Site Managers on assigned Contracts to ensure a thorough estimate of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with products or services. This is then provided to aid the Project Lead to fulfil their duties as lead function, all within business requirements, Company Governance and Commercial procedures. This will involve assessing material, labour and equipment required and analysing different quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers.
You will be working from a Bill of Quantities or from drawings provided by the client. As the Estimator you will provide prices for everything from a one-off scheme to maintenance projects which will be completed over several years.
The projects will mainly be delivered under an NEC contract – ideally you will have strong knowledge and experience of working with the contract and its multiple options. The organisation has the capability to undertake projects differing in nature, allowing the company to work with a wide range of clients from both sectors, Private and Commercial.
The contractor is looking for someone with good experience of being an Estimator for multiple projects. They have a strong commercial team in the regional office, based in Poole; you will be working alongside the Commercial Manager, Senior QS and other QS’s running other general commercial duties across the region and other live projects.

The client is a regional Civil Engineering Contractor. Their core focus is on delivering groundworks and concrete structure projects but also cover engineering plant and soil stabilisation all for Tier 1 contractors and public sectors.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will be qualified via ONC, HNC or degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or other relevant courses.
