Based out of Fareham area covering projects within 1 hour of the office

About this Role:

Project Quantity Surveyor with estimating capabilities required to work for the Special Works Division of a Regional Contractor based out of Fareham covering projects within 1 hour of Fareham.

Projects range in value from £50K - £2M working within the commercial, residential, education and leisure industry.

You will need to have worked on projects as the lead QS previously from pre-construction to final accounts.

The type of contracts range from JCT to NEC.

This role will be reporting into the Special Works Director.

Your role will involve but will not be limited to:

Pre Contract:

Attending pre commencement / pre contract meetings

Attend meetings regarding all financial control procedures associated with the design development to ensure the recording of perceived risks and opportunities in the bid as required.

Post Contract:

Financial reporting and control

Continually monitor and review, in detail costs and values of the works at hand.

Produce turnover and contribution forecasts.

Ensure that the financial reports are produced and submitted in line with the company’s reporting timetable.

Attend regular review and control meetings.

Carry out checks to ensure design drawings are in accordance with the clients requirements and contractors requirements.

Management of Risk

Contract Review and production Meetings

Surveyor Review Meetings

Main Contract and External Valuations and Final Accounts

Management of Consultants and Subcontractors

Feedback to the Commercial manager of any price elements or unit prices which are considered to be seriously at variance with cost, giving details of shortfall.

Provide constructive comments on improving efficiency.

Provide feedback on poorly performing subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.

About the Company/Client/Project:

Regional Contractor with a turnover of £36M

Working on projects within the interiors division ranging from £50K – £2M within the commercial, education, leisure and residential sectors.

Working on traditional contracting and D&B.

Regional coverage throughout the South East with secured work for 2018.

This is an opportunity to be part of a growing division with a successful and established Regional Contractor.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

You will have experience of working within the Construction industry, specifically on D&B new build and refurbishment projects.

Candidates must:

hold or be working toward a construction / design related professional qualification - HNC/HND/Degree

This role would also suit an intermediate level Quantity Surveyor looking to make a move to a company that you can progress within.
