About this Role:
Reporting to the Operations Director, and working alongside one other Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of 2-3 projects from typically from input to tender and second stage preconstruction, then throughout construction phases to handover through your construction teams.
Projects will range from £20m to £30m on average; Scope of work is typically secondary schools, university and college new builds and refurbishments, leisure and local authority buildings; The patch is mainly Hampshire and Dorset.
At this moment in time, the role will be mostly delivery focussed, supporting and overseeing multiple project teams in the Winchester, Southampton and Portsmouth areas working predominantly on education schemes.
Duties include: client liaison, input to tender and preconstruction, programming of work, design development, management of site teams, ensuring company standards for health and safety, quality assurance, staffing, forecasting, coordination and progress meetings, reporting on progress, issue resolution, driving teams to achieve successful delivery on programme, budget and quality.
About the Company/Client/Project:
This opportunity is with the regional Hampshire office of this larger national contractor group, and has a turnover in the region of £90m annually, with work in the Hampshire/Dorset area. The scope of works includes education schools and colleges, leisure and, local authority etc. This is a long established regional office; Works are secured on a mixture of national and regional frameworks and competitive tender.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
Ideally from an engineering or trades background, you will have extensive practical experience of managing new build and refurbishment design and build projects for a main contractor, and have progressed up through the Site Manager / Project Manager route. An experienced Senior Project Manager looking to make the next step will also be considered for this, especially if you have had multi-site experience.
You will possess excellent contractual, commercial and technical construction knowledge, with the ability to plan, programme and drive the construction of projects through your site teams, whilst maintaining positive client relationships throughout.
