Chain Person/Junior Engineer/Graduate
About this Role:
My client is looking for a chain person or assistant/junior engineer to work on a live project that involves the construction of a new road and construction of large concrete slabs at Gatwick airport. The role will suit a person with some experience of working on site and ideally you may have worked with engineers in the past too. Duties will include working alongside the site engineer and helping with carrying equipment, setting up adjusting and operating surveying instruments such as prisms, theodolites, and electronic distance-measuring equipment. Physically marking out setting out points in the ground as instructed.
You will also mark out measuring points with stray to mark out points and drive them into ground, sometimes at specific elevation, using a hammer

The contractor are a leading national contractor working across civil engineering projects including highways, marine and general civil engineering works, construction and power disciplines.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
To be considered for this position you must have a CSCS card and a one day CITB health and Safety test or SSSTS/SMSTS. Required to start from 3rd September. You must be keen and eager to learn and also be able to to prove Uk residency over the last 5 years in order to gain security pass.
