About this Role:

Experienced Building Services Manager to join a Regional Contractor based in Dorset.

This is an opportunity to join an established business with a strong pipeline for not only 2019 but guaranteed work for 2020.

Projects range from £2M - £19M across Dorset, Somerset and Hampshire areas within the residential, commercial, education, leisure and community sectors.

Candidates should ideally be able to effectively ensure the services are delivered to agreed plans, time-scales and costs, whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.

Pre-construction experience would be an advantage although not essential as the right candidate will be given the opportunity to expand their knowledge of pre-construction and the tender process.

The main aspects of the Building Services Manager Roles are to:

Provide guidance and instruction to the site management team

Manage and coordinate the statutory authority connections

Review the design/installation drawings/packages for build ability and presentation standards

Chair regular progress meetings with the M&E subcontractors

Monitor and record progress against programme

Provide regular reports to the site team for inclusion into client/board progress reports

Conduct site reviews and inspections for compliance, quality, access & maintenance

Coordinate the commissioning process and ensure that all relevant documentation is in place to achieve a successful handover.

Maintain a good working relationship with M&E subcontractors

Ensure that any specification anomalies are resolved and agreed with consultants and the client’s team

About the Company/Client/Project:

A regional contractor with over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry working within the education, healthcare, hotels and leisure, residential, commercial, industrial, retail and community sectors on projects up to £20M

Projects include care homes, hotels, residential, commercial units, education and industrial units.

The business is growing and has a vision to grow the turnover and profits by consistently delivering at a high level and providing the best value for their clients.

2019 is on target for £50-55M

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

Essential and desirable criteria

Essential Criteria

Have a good understanding of appropriate M&E and services legislation

Have experience of a variety of M&E projects

Have commercial acumen

Experience of interpretation of project documentation and developing appropriate strategies

Good standard of mathematical ability

Good IT skills

Appropriate CSCS card

Desirable Criteria

Previous experience of working for a main contractor

First Aid at Work certificate

Working towards SMSTS certificate

Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC / NVQ4 etc)
