Assistant Site Manager
About this Role:
An Ideal opportunity for an ambitious and highly motivated Assistant Site Manager, who is keen to learn, gain experience and progress up through the ranks.
Reporting to the site based Project Manager, you will be responsible for the management of work activities and trade subcontractors.
Duties include: client liaison, short-term programming of work, management and coordination of sub-contract trades, ensuring company standards followed for health and safety, quality assurance, coordination and progress meetings, issue resolution, snagging and handover.
Projects include schemes in the West Dorset area, typically residential developments and retirement homes; Initially based on a new build scheme on Portland for the internal fit out and finishing stages for the rest of the year, the next scheme will most likely be a new build development at Poundbury, Dorchester.
About the Company/Client/Project:
This southern regional contractor/developer is well established in the area, with a range of new build developments currently on site and good pipeline of work into 2020/21.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
Ideally degree qualified with a construction management or engineering degree, or from a trades background with a few years of experience in the assistant site manager or finishing foreman / manager role.
You will possess the ability to coordinate activities on site, manage trade sub-contractors, carry out inductions and monitor / enforce safe working practices, progress of works against programme, and basic QA to ensure work is carried out according to the drawing and specified quality.
You will ideally have the capacity to plan ahead, organise short-term programs and plan for logistics, deliveries of materials, removal of waste, etc
You will possess your CSCS supervisor card, and ideally SMSTS and First Aid qualifications.
